Recently my site has been having a fairly constant (about two or more) stream of comment spam. You guys didn’t see it, basically because I had an up to date spam list.

Apparently, these days WordPress 2.0 has got more spam protection in it than meets the eye. Not enabled by default, the Akismet plug-in that is included with WordPress 2.0 is an anti-comment-spam service made by the creators of WordPress.

It involves processing comments through a rigourous series of tests that will eventually give comments either a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. All you need is a WordPress.com account.

I’ll be trialling it for now. Comment all you like people! I’ll be keeping a close eye on the spam.
