Fullspeed, uncapped internet in two months
This is kind of old now, but Telecom has recently announced that it will be upgrading its current high-speed plans to those that have been given to iHug and Slingshot earlier this year by the commerce commission.
If you are currently on the 3.5Mbps download/128kbps upload plan, you will go into full speed download and have the datacap removed. Full speed is about 7.6Mbps.
If you are currently on the 3.5Mbps download/512kbps upload plan, you will go into full speed upload and download, also with the datacap removed.
These will take place on October 28th, apparently the switch will happen overnight. Orcon is meant to announce its new plans soon to take advantage.
These plans come as the commerce commission forced Telecom to give unrestricted broadband access earlier this year to iHug and Callplus (Slingshot). These changes needed to happen by the 26th of October. The plan changes would have happened so then Telecom could’ve provided the same plans to Xtra customers.
