Look what I got

The thing I like about the Playstation controllers is that they are nicely designed, fit in your hand, and boast a lot of features. And these days they are rather cheap too. You can pick up brand new ones off TradeMe for $20 (some are even lower) or $60 from your local store. Compare that to a PC sub-par gamepad.

So look what I got off TradeMe today for $20,

Yes, I can plug in two PS2 (or PSone) controllers and use them on my computer. Not bad, and it works well, even the analog sticks work. Apparently, it can do rumble as well. On Vista it was a cinch to set up (plugged it in and it went).

But, this is going to be for the MythBox though so we can play *cough*emulators*cough*. Will I have that same success on Ubuntu?

I take it there’s no Linux solution for driver support that suborns the windows driver and just uses that to interpret the signals from the device?

An emulated driver in essence.

I think Joydev should be able to work. Windows recognises it as a “Twin USB Joystick” and has two in the game controllers control panel. I expect Ubuntu to do just the same, however I can’t find any docs in the Wiki.
