It’s a completely new system
People who have read this blog since the beginning (all two of you) will know that my original computer efforts started when my parents gave me their old machine (that I contributed money to anyway). Since then changes have been made and now nothing in the machine is from the first iteration or even the second.
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz processor (1333 FSB)
- 2GB DDR2 RAM
- Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 mothorboard
- Palit nVidia GeForce 7900GS graphics card
- LG DVD/DVD-R
- 250GB hard drive
- Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value
The machine used to be (back in 2002)
- AMD Athlon XP 1700+
- 256MB RAM
- GeForce 2 MX
- CD/CD-RW
- 40 GB hard drive
- Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
The AMD Athlon (and it’s motherboard) have gone (one of my friends pointed out the corroding capacitors). The GeForce 2 I haven’t a clue where it has gone. CD writer is still lying around. The 40GB hard drive is in the Mythbo… I mean Media Server.
That’s right. I’ve jumped from MythTV/Linux and onto MediaPortal/Windows. It has been troublesome, but I’ve got it all clicking together. The only downside is it appears the image isn’t as good as it was on MythTV with graphical glitches and such. I’m unsure as to the reason of them, the only thing I can think of is the signal quality, but that can’t of changed in half a week. Just have to play some more I think.
