		<description>Betamax wasn't successful in the home video market, but IIRC, it was succesful in the professional (e.g. TV station) market.

Oh, and Sony pioneered a disk mechanism that Apple helped to it's dominance for the final part of the floppy disk lifetime - the 3.5" floppy (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floppy_disk#The_3.C2.BD-inch_microfloppy_diskette).</description>
