About

Hello, I’m Daniel! I made my first web page when I was 12 where I learnt a harsh lesson about cross-browser compatibility (I used frames, Internet Explorer 3.0 supported them, but not the school’s Netscape 2.0!). Since then I learnt CSS and JavaScript, stitching dynamic websites in ColdFusion, ASP, PHP and then ASP.Net, as well as coding up Windows apps on the side from time-to-time.

I went through Waikato University, got my degree and headed to Wellington to start my job as a developer at Trade Me, New Zealand’s largest website.

In my spare time I’ll play games on the PlayStation 3 (or the PC from time to time), tinker with code, write up this blog, go for frequent wanders around the city, even sometimes go Geocaching if I play my cards right.

Just to be on the safe side, I should state that, obviously, all opinions and comments expressed on my blog are my own, and not of my employers.
