Two-double-oh-nine is finally here! Hooray! So now it’s fair enough to reminisce over 2008 while the memories are still good. It was a rather big year for me;
- I completed by Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences (Major: Computer Science) degree at Waikato University and subsequently graduated. It felt like forever, which is probably true considering I had been in some educational institution since I was five years old. I still sometimes have nightmares that I have assignments to hand in on Monday (have to slap myself a few times to remind myself that I have my piece of paper and they can’t take it away from me now). I’ve met many great people and made great memories at that place, so Hamilton will always be remembered… but then it will anyway as my grandparents are there.
- I moved to Wellington. It’s a pretty huge move considering I had only visited once beforehand and that was only for a couple of days. But when I did visit it in 2007, I knew it was the city that I wanted to get to when University was over and done with. I’m still happy with my move to Wellington, but sometimes miss my friends back in Hamilton.
- I started my first out-of-University, full time job at Trade Me as a web developer. I still leave work with a smile on my face, something I thought would fade away after the first couple of weeks. No two days are the same, there’s always some sort of challenge to conquer and I work with some great people.
My blogging has decreased a lot over the year, but I do try and update it whenever possible.
So here’s to another great year!
