PSP MusicBox won’t let you change the drive
Fixed in 2.0.1 In version 2.0.x, open the main window and go to the About tab. Click the Diagnostic checkbox. This will force PSP MusicBox to disregard the drive and will temporarily disable checking for the PSP. Once you have changed the drive, uncheck the check box.
Music isn’t synchronised
Fixed in 2.0.1 This was caused by a bug in tag guessing and has been fixed in version 2.0.1. The other workaround is by turning of automatic renaming.
Checking for the latest version
In version 2.0 and later, you can check for the latest version from Help. Click the Help button from the main window, and then click on ‘Check for latest version.’
Application configuration issues
If you start the program and you get the following error:
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstall the application to fix this problem.
This means that you haven’t installed the Microsoft .Net 2.0 framework on your computer. This is required for PSP MusicBox to work correctly. Download this from Microsoft.com.
How to keep music on your PSP
PSP MusicBox 2.0 and up will now ignore music files that have been marked “read only.” In My Computer, you can right-click any file and select Properties, then select the Read Only checkbox. This will prevent PSP MusicBox from deleting that music file.
Locked on “Creating deletion hierarchy.”
Fixed in 2.0.2 This happens when music has been deleted from the PSP leaving not enough music for PSP MusicBox to delete itself while selecting music to replace. To quit the program, press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time and kill the “pspmagic.exe” process. There are two ways to fix this problem:
- Reload PSP MusicBox, go to the Restrictions tab and check the “Recreate music list on next sync” option.
- Open up My Computer, and in your PSP drive, navigate to PSP/MUSIC and delete the “musicdata.dat” file.
